The most common problem with scanning in quick EMR can be solved by turning on the scanner icon on the desktop and then minimize it. Now that its activated Quick EMR will be able to utilize your scanner and put scanned notes directly into you patients file.


If that doesn't work try these steps to get your scanner up and running


  • Make sure the scanner is turned on and connected
  • Test that the scanner works by scanning something into the Paint program
  • When you go to scan make sure the right scanner is selected
  • Is it the default scanner


Log off of your session completely from the start button, not the X in the upper right hand corner, and then log back in. Its possible you have two sessions open at once.


In the event that it still does not scan. Turn off completely the scanner and computer and then restart them both. Make sure the desktop icon has been activated before you log into Quick EMR.
